Jalandhar Rural Police arrests Nigerian woman with 1 kg Heroin

The Jalandhar Rural Police on Saturday have arrested a Nigerian woman after seizing one-kg heroin in Bara Pind of the district.

The woman has been identified Beauty of Ohio, Abdu, Benin in Nigeria. She was residing presently street number-13 Shiapur near Vikaspuri, New Delhi.

Addressing a press conference, Jalandhar Rural SSP Mr Navjot Singh Mahal said that sub-inspector Mr Nirmal Singh from CIA staff along with police party was patrolling near Goraya to Barra Pind. When the police party reached Canal Bridge in Barra Pind, the cops spotted a woman who was carrying black colour bag on her left shoulder.

On spotting the police, she tried to outsmart the cops but later apprehended by women police constables.

SSP further added that on getting information, DSP Major Crime Mr Amandeep Singh Brar reached the spot and in his presence, the women constables Ms Daljeet Kaur and Ms Rajdeep Kaur checked her bag and recovered 1-kg heroin.

She was immediately arrested and a case under sections 21 of NDPS Act in Goraya Police Station.

SSP told that a detailed probe is being conducted in this case.
