Jalandhar Police today seized Rs.18,63,100 being carried in Car at a Naka in the heart of the city.
The cops deployed at a check-point outside DPRO office near Skylark Chowk stopped a Swift Dezire Car.
During the search of the car an amount of Rs.18,63,100 was recovered from a suitcase upon which the cops at Naka informed Kamaljit Singh, the SHO of PS Division No.4.
Questioned by the police, Deepak Bhandari, a resident of Raja Garden in the city, who claimed to be owner of a Courier Company, could not produce any proof regarding the amount seized.
The police seized the cash and have informed the EC team.
