Continuing campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has arrested five individuals and recovered 220 grams of heroin.
Sharing the details, Commissioner of Police, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur said that in the past two days, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar conducted operations across different police stations targeting drug peddlers and suppliers. During the operations, 1 individual was arrested with 20 grams of heroin under Police Station Sadar and 1 individual with 200 grams of heroin under Police Station Cantt.
Two FIRs have been registered under NDPS Act and a total of 220 grams of heroin recovered*. Apart from this, *three more accused were apprehended in connection with pending cases* under Police Stations Division No. 1, Division No. 3, and Basti Bawa Khel.
In total, five accused have been arrested during these targeted actions at identified drug hotspots and smuggling hubs.
She further said that alongside strict action against drug traffickers, equal attention is being given to the rehabilitation of drug addicts. Under this initiative,*10 individuals have recently been admitted to de-addiction centres* for treatment.
CP Jalandhar emphasized that the Commissionerate Police is fully committed to eliminating drugs from society and will continue to take strict action against all those involved in drug trafficking.
