Jalandhar Police bust Prince Baba Gang, 5 Arrested with Weapons, Cars

The Commissionerate Police on Monday have busted a gang of robbers involved in attempt to murder, cash snatchings and other criminal incidents headed by notorious criminal Paramjit Singh alias Prince Baba and arrested five persons including Baba from separate places.

The accused persons have been identified as Paramjit Singh (21), Arshpreet Singh (21) and Sukhpreet Singh (19) of Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, Navketan (25) of Nagra village and Ashish Sandhu (23) of Nandanpur village of the district.

Divulging the details, Commissioner of Police Mr Naunihal Singh said that on July 23, 2019, Mr Ramesh Chander of Roze Park, owner of Royal Medical Store was going to home on activa scooter and when he reached near Mission Compound Church, four bike-borne youths attacked him with sharp-edged weapon and looted Rs 1.90 lakh from scooter’s dicky. He said that the investigation of the case was handed over to CIA staff-1 which arrested Baba, Arshpreet and Sukhpreet into this incident near Bidhipur railway crossing.

Mr Singh said that the CIA-1 team has recovered .32 bore illegal pistol, four live cartridges from Baba, sharp-edged weapon from Arshpreet and one Zen car (PB65-A-1401) in which they were travelling in.

Commissioner of Police added that Baba had come out of jail on February 16, 2019, in two previous criminal cases and later formed his gang.

Mr Singh told that later, he along with accomplices, looted Rs 2.80 lakh, two mobiles and DVR from the office of a Courier company on June 10, 2019.

On June 19, the gang robbed an activa scooter from a person in Pucca Bagh locality. On the same day, the gang looted a Ahata owner and took away his purse, gold chain and scooter near Link road.

On June 29, Baba and accomplices robbed another activa scooter from a person in Model Town. On the same day, the gang led by Baba opened fires in Guru Amardass Nagar during a clash.

On July 7 morning , the gang looted an Innova car in Kartarpur and stolen three LED, one computer and other things from Neera Industry near PNB Adda Hoshiarpur but failed to loot the cash box as a police vehicle had arrived on the road. Later, they dumped the innova car in Raj Nagar and took away LED and Computer.

He said that in all above mentioned cases, FIRs have been registered at various Police Stations.

Mr Singh further revealed that Arshpreet is cousin of Baba and had involved in two criminal cases on July 7, 2019 with Baba. Sukhpreet was working in a medical shop at Dilkusha Market.

Moreover, the city Police also nabbed Navketan and Ashish from T-Point near Verka Milk Point and seized two mobiles and one Zen Car (DL-0508). Both of them are involved in robberies and snatching cases.
