The Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori on Sunday said that Jalandhar has the lowest Case Fatality Rate (CFR) amongst the districts having more than 500 positive cases and is on 13th position overall in the state in CFR table.
As per the details, Jalandhar has witnessed 1187 positive cases and recorded 25 deaths which amount to 2.11 per cent CFR whereas the districts like Amritsar which has 1040 cases, 51 deaths and has 4.90 per cent CFR, Ludhiana has 1316 cases, 31 deaths and registered 2.36 per cent CFR. Similarly, Sangrur has registered 629 cases, 18 deaths and has CFR of 2.86 per cent and Patiala has 2.13 per cent CFR and witnessed 12 deaths and 563 cases so far.
He said that overall, the Jalandhar is on 13th place in the CFR table in Punjab.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori said that district administration is emphasizing a major focus on saving the precious life from the scourge of infection for which all of us have to join hands.
He said that all Covid deaths witnessed in Jalandhar either had co-morbid conditions or other ailments as per the analysis conducted by the district administration.
He said that the people must not get panicky as more cases were surfacing in the city due to aggressive testing by the administration.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the situation was totally under control in the district and people must come forward for the testing so that the timely detection and treatment can help to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, he said that the district administration was fully geared up to meet any sort of contingency. Mr Thori said that in this combat against the hidden enemy the district administration would leave no stone unturned and every effort would be made to impart quality treatment to them.
The Deputy Commissioner said that there was no dearth of resources and manpower with the administration to tackle this pandemic.
