Jalandhar DC Varinder Sharma casts his vote along with wife and Chief Administrator JDA

The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and their wife Mrs. Praveen Sharma along with Chief Administrator Jalandhar Development Authority Mr. Jitendra Jorwal today casted their vote at booth number 63 in Government Senior Secondary School Ladowali road.

Accompanied by their daughters, the Deputy Commissioner, his wife and Chief Administrator JDA exercised their franchise at the booth after showing their voter slip and identity cards to the polling staff.

Interacting with the poling staff, the Deputy Commissioner said that they must discharge their duty with utmost sincerity and dedication to ensure that people were able to take part in this festival of democracy. Mr. Sharma said that Jalandhar has always upheld the glorious tradition of voting enthusiastically to strengthen democracy at grass-root level.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also felicitated Ms. Meghul Katyal a resident of Master Tara Singh Nagar, a first time voter, who casted her vote first at the booth.

Mr. Sharma complimented the girl coming forward and using her Right to vote for becoming an active partner in socio-economic growth of the country. He also lauded the parents of the young voters who were encouraging their wards to cast their vote in the polls.

The Deputy Commissioner also visited the all women polling booth in the school and interacted with the polling staff on the occasion. He also lauded the women employees for imparting the poll duty diligently.

Mr. Sharma said that it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction for all of us that women staff was playing a pivotal role in further strengthening the ethos of democracy in the country by discharging the duty efficaciously.
