Jalandhar DC orders show cause notice against non-performing Revenue Officers

Tightening the noose around the Revenue Officers for their non performance in collection of Revenue, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today directed to issue show cause notice against the officers who have failed to do the pending recoveries.

Chairing a meeting here to review the Revenue receipts here at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner said that laxity in part of Revenue Officers on this part was totally unwarranted and undesirable.

He said that this type of callous attitude would not be tolerated at any cost and severest of severe action would be taken against the non performing officers. Mr Sharma said that directed the revenue officers to speed up the recovery from the wilful defaulters.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the officers must accord top most priority to the collection of these recoveries for enhancing the revenue of the state government. He also asked the Sub Divisional Magistrates to personally monitor the cases pertaining to recovery so that its process of the recovery could be expedited.

He said that this process must be completed at the earliest without any delay. Mr. Sharma said that any wilful defaulters must not be spared and stern action must be taken against them.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the Revenue officers were duty-bound to ensure the recovery of pending arrears from the wilful defaulters at the earliest. He said that wilful defaulters should not be allowed to take the law for granted and every effort must be made to recover the pending arrears from them at the earliest.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Amit Kumar Panchal, Mr Rahul Sindhu, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Dr. Jai Inder Singh and Mr Vineet Kumar, Assistant Commissioners Ms. Shayari Malhotra and Mr RS Gill besides earliest.
