Jalandhar DC orders enquiry into reports of dumping Civil Hospital patients outside Railway Station

Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has ordered an inquiry into the alleged reports of leaving sick patient outside railway station, which was shared on social media recently. Taking a serious note of the matter, the deputy commissioner has marked the enquiry to the Assistant Commissioner who will submit a detailed report to the deputy commissioner.

The deputy commissioner said that it came to his knowledge through social media that a person who was left outside the railway station was admitted in ESI hospital and was in poor condition in ESI hospital. He added that the administration officials would visit the hospital to oversee the level of treatment and facilities there, and the detailed report would be submitted to him.

Meanwhile, the District Red Cross society would ensure the best of the treatment to both of the abandoned patients besides bearing the expenses of their treatment and diet in the hospital adding the deputy commissioner said that the Secretary Red Cross Society would personally visit the ESI hospital and offer help to the needy people there.

Following the directions, Secretary Red Cross Society Inderdev Singh visited the ESI hospital and extended helping hands to patient admitted there.

Singh said that the society on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has provided two pairs of new clothes to the patients besides providing the old one diapers and other basic facilities. The Red Cross Society also offered help to the migrant labourer to return his home after the treatment was over.

The labourer was rushed to the ESI hospital after a road accident adding the secretary said that some NGOs in line with the District Red Cross Society were helping people admitted in the hospital.

Keeping in view the gravity of the situation, Thori said that any laxity in providing the quality healthcare services to the people would be unwarranted and stringent of the action would be taken against the erring officials.

The Deputy Commissioner reinforced his commitment to providing top class civic services to the people of the district, especially amid these trying times.
