To make girls self-reliant and skilled in this highly competitive world, the district administration under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao drive has started a free driving training camp at Burlton Park on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori visited the Burlton Park and interacted with the participants of the first batch while launching the training camp. All the participants were above the age of 18-years.
Motivating the girls to learn this skill carefully, Thori said that the core motive behind this idea was to make girls self-reliant and help them build confidence so that they don’t miss any opportunity due to lack of driving skills. He added that with this new skill, the girls would not rely on others for movement from one place to another.
Divulging more, the Deputy Commissioner said that in the first batch, as many as 70 girls would be imparted the driving training in various shifts at Burlton Park for the next 15 days, which would be followed by more batches.
District Program Officer Gurminder Singh Randhawa mentioned that on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori, new batches at the Tehsil level would be started soon under the Beti Bacho Beti Padhao drive.
