Jalandhar DC appoints IAS and PCS officers as Nodal Officers for Job Melas

In order to ensure smooth conduct of upcoming six job fairs in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma has appointed six Indian Administrative Officer (IAS) and Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officers as nodal officers for these melas starting from today (September 19) till September 30.

As per the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Sub Divisional Magistrate II Mr. Paramvir Singh would be the nodal officer for Job Fair to be held at Shahpur campus of CT Polytechnic on September 19, Sub Divisional Magistrate Nakodar Mr. Amit Kumar would be nodal officer for Job Fair to be held at Government ITI Mehatpur Road Nakodar on September 21, Sub Divisional Magistrate Jalandhar I Dr. Sanjeev Sharma would be nodal officer for job fair to be held at DAVIET on September 24 and at Lyallpur Khalsa College on September 28, Sub Divisional Magistrate II Mr. Paramvir Singh for job fair at DAV University on September 26 and at District Industries Centre on September 30.

Exhorting the youth to participate in these job melas in large number, the Deputy Commissioner envisioned that these mega job fairs being organized by the state government would act as a catalyst to open new vistas of employment for them.

He said that this noble initiative of the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was aimed at providing jobs to every household under ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna’ adding that 150 companies would be offering jobs to 12000 youth during the mela.

Mr. Sharma said that these job fairs were first of its kind initiative by the state government in which the industrial giants were visiting the campuses of colleges to select youths for the job.
