Jalandhar CP Gurpreet Bhullar reviews Law & Order situation ahead of Sept 25 Punjab Bandh

The Commissioner of Police (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today said that the Commissionerate Police would ensure law and order were maintained during Punjab Bandh on September 25.

Reviewing the situation, the Commissioner of Police said that every effort would be made to maintain law and order, peace and amity in the district. He said that the Police officers must keep a strict vigil over the entire situation and ensure that law and order were upheld at every cost. He also asked the officers/ officials to ensure regular patrolling in all the vulnerable areas.

He also asked the officers to meticulously prepare a plan for traffic divisions in their respective areas. He also directed the officers to convince the people for resorting to peaceful protest.

Bhullar also issued stringent instructions to all the police officers to ensure that their respective areas must be crime-free and asked them to increase vigil in the field round the clock. He told all officers to carry out systematic and in-depth field visits into their jurisdictions.

The Commissioner of Police said that every police officer must-have information on their tips regarding the whereabouts of criminals whether they are in jail, on parole or bail. He also ordered the officers to take all possible steps to check the activities of the criminals/habitual offenders effectively and pursue strict legal action against them.

Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government and Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta to rein in the criminals from the state, he warned the officers against any complacency on the issue.

He also asked senior officials to create awareness among all the police officials at all levels about medical protocols that needed to be obeyed including hand washing, masking and social distancing frequently to keep the Covid-19 pandemic at bay.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCPs) Balkar Singh, Naresh Kumar Dogra, ADCP Ms Vatsala Gupta and others were present.
