Political Advisor to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and MLA Urmur Sangat Singh Gilzian accompanied by the Chabbewal MLA Dr. Raj Kumar on Friday expressed sympathy with the bereaved family of a six years old girl, who was murdered and set on fire at a village here.
Both the leaders handed over a cheque of ex-gratia grant worth Rs. 4 Lakh by the Punjab Government to the victim family. Sharing heartfelt sympathies with the family over the horrifying incident, they said that initiating prompt action the police had already nabbed the both accused and the investigation was underway to ensure harshest punishment.
Both the MLAs said that the state government stood by the family in this hour of grief and sorrow and assured to ensure speedy trial in the incident. They said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had issued directions for expeditious legal proceedings so that the exemplary punishment could got awarded to the accused.
MLA and President of Punjab Congress SC cell Dr. Raj Kumar Chhabewal said that the state government was committed to extending all best possible help to the victim’s family.
