Sangrur/Patiala, June 29, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur on Tuesday visited Gurdwara Sahib in Jaulian village in Bhawanigarh area of Sangrur district, where a woman set the gurdwara on fire in the recent past.

Bibi Jagir Kaur held a meeting with the gurdwara management committee and villagers to ascertain the ground situation about the fire incident.

SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur on the spot handed over cheque of Rs 10 lakh to Sangat, for the repair of the building damaged due to the fire at Gurdwara Sahib.

On this occasion, Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “The government should take strict action against the culprits behind this sacrilege incident and send such forces behind the bars after booking them under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) law.”

SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that while the incident at Gurdwara Sahib is extremely unfortunate, she also lashed out at the police administration and the government saying that such incidents could be stopped if the anti-Sikh forces were taught a lesson.

Bibi Jagir Kaur appreciated those Sikhs who risked their lives to save the holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from the fire at Gurdwara Sahib and gave Rs 13,000 each to them as appreciation amount.
