India has rejected BJP’s politics of polarisation, reposed faith in regional parties: Akali Dal

Chandigarh, May 2, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) said the people had reposed faith in regional parties in elections to State assemblies whose results were declared today even as they had sent a clear message to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that they did not appreciate attempts to try to break up regional parties.

In a statement here, former minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said it was clear from the poll results that people felt that regional parties were best able to understand regional aspirations and act upon them. “ These elections are truly a victory of regional parties. The people have also rejected politics or polarisation of the BJP and have voted for secular performance driven politics”.

Dr Daljit Cheema said the elections had also given a clear indication that the Congress party did not command the respect of the people any longer. “The Congress even tried to tie up with regional outfits to put up a challenge in the elections but the combinations were rejected outrightly because the people have lost faith in the Congress party”.
