As Independence Day approaches on August 15, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has stepped up security arrangements across the city. Intensive checking, patrolling, and surveillance are being carried out to ensure safety measures.
A special search operation was carried out today at the Jalandhar Bus Stand and Railway Stations to strengthen security protocols. The operation was conducted under the directions of Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, and was led by Smt. Roopdeep Kaur, ACP Model Town, and Sh. Amarnath, ACP North.
A force of 110 police personnel was deployed, with the support of the Anti-Sabotage Team. During the operation, suspected individuals were thoroughly checked, passengers’ luggage was carefully inspected, and the identification of travellers was verified on the spot.
The PIAS app was used to check the criminal records of suspects, while CCTV cameras installed at the railway stations and bus stand were inspected to ensure their proper functioning for continuous monitoring. The Commissionerate Police Jalandhar will continue to conduct such operations in the days ahead to ensure a safe and secure Independence Day celebration.
