Under the leadership of ADGP NRI R.K. Jaswal, CP Jalandhar Dhanpreet Kaur, and senior police officials, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, conducted a comprehensive review of security arrangements at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Stadium. This proactive step was aimed at ensuring a smooth, secure, and dignified celebration of the nation’s most important day.
During the inspection, ADGP R.K. Jaswal, accompanied by senior officers, personally assessed multiple key areas, including the VIP enclosures, auditorium, parade ground, spectator
stands, surrounding high-rise buildings, and the designated parking zones. The review also covered external access points and adjoining public spaces to strengthen the security protocols. Special attention is being given to entry and exit points to facilitate the smooth movement of the public while preventing unauthorized access.
He directed the deployed police personnel, both inside and outside the venue, to remain vigilant and conduct hourly checks. Special metal detectors, handheld scanners, and other advanced devices were used during the inspection to ensure a foolproof security setup.
After the security inspection, ADGP Shri R.K. Jaswal held a special meeting with the senior police officers of CP Jalandhar in which necessary instructions regarding security were issued.
Senior police officials also urged the public to cooperate with the police during the national celebrations and to promptly report any suspicious activity by calling the Police Helpline at 112. With these robust security arrangements, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that the 79th Independence Day is celebrated in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and national pride.
