Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught red handed, Jai Bagwan, depot holder while accepting illegal gratification of Rs. 5,000 on behalf of Ravi Kant, Inspector, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Rohtak.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that a complaint was made by Mr Paramvir, a resident of village Mokhra Kheri, district Rohtak that Jai Bagwan, depot holder is demanding Rs. 5,000 on behalf of Ravi Kant, Inspector by threatening him that his depot would be rechecked and cancelled in case he does not fulfill their demand.
He said that acting swiftly, the team of State Vigilance Bureau apprehended Jai Bagwan, depot holder red handed. Inspector Ravi Kant of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Rohtak has also been arrested in the presence of Duty Magistrate, Mr Surender Singh, City Magistrate, Rohtak.
The spokesman said that a case has been registered u/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 384 of IPC against the accused in Bureau Police Station, Rohtak. Further investigation of the case is in progress, he added.
