Haryana Vigilance Bureau nabs Chief Sanitary Inspector accepting Rs.13.7 lakh bribe

The State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana has caught Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI), Municipal Corporation, Panipat, Sudhir Kumar red-handed in front of the office of Fire Brigade, Panipat on the National Highway, while accepting bribe of Rs. 13,70,000 from Sh. Chankit Daral, Administrative Officer, IND Sanitation and Solutions Company.

Sharing more information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Bureau said that IND Sanitation and Solutions Company had been awarded tender for road sanitization in Panipat, Rohtak, Bahadurgarh, Sonepat and Panchkula and Sudhir Kumar, CSI talked to Sh. Krishan Kumar, Director of the Company on his mobile phone and demanded bribe of Rs. 13,70,000 in lieu of passing their outstanding bills and further extending the tender, which was recorded by the latter.

The complainant i.e. Sh. Chankit Daral was asked by Sh. Krishan Kumar to submit a complaint to State Vigilance Bureau along with pen drive of call recording said the spokesperson.

He said that after receiving the information, a case under section 7 PC Act was registered in Police Station, SVB, Karnal. A team headed by Sh. Narsingh, DSP, SVB, Rohtak was constituted. Sh. Krishan Kumar, Principal, ITI, Panipat and Smt. Archana, Helper, ITI, Panipat were appointed as Duty Magistrate and Shadow witness respectively.

The team of SVB apprehended the said Chief Sanitary Inspector red-handed in the presence of Duty Magistrate and shadow witness while accepting bribe of Rs. 13,70,000. The accused is being interrogated thoroughly and will be produced before the Court today. The investigation of the case is in progress.
