Haryana Police have seized 90 kg ganja (cannabis) from a car and arrested two persons on charges of drug trafficking in Nuh district.
While giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that arrested persons were involved in illegal transportation of ganja when their vehicle was intercepted by CIA team in Punhana.
Police got secret information that two men involved in drug-peddling alongwith their associates would pass through the Public Health Engineering Office in Punhana in a Maruti Ecco car to deliver the consignment of ganja. Police team immediately swung into action and signaled a vehicle to stop. On checking the vehicle, police found two bags hidden in between CNG gas cylinders containing 90 kg ganja.
While two persons identified as Mahendra, hailing from Alwar district in Rajasthan and Umardaraaz of Rojkameo were apprehended, two of their associates managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.
A case has been filed against them and efforts are on to nab other people involved in the drug peddling.
