In yet another crackdown on drug peddlers, Haryana Police have seized 70,500 tramadol tablets fallen under the category of prohibited medicines in district Jind. Police have also arrested two persons who were in possession of the prohibited drugs.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Police said that on getting specific information about smuggling of banned medicine, a team of the Crime Investigation Agency had intercepted the car, which is used for smuggling of prohibited drugs, near Kandela village. The search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 70,500 Tramadol tablets, a prohibited pharma drug.
The arrested accused were identified as Dinesh and Mahendra, both residents of Palwal district who reached near Kandela village on Kaithal road to deliver the consignment of pharma drug.
A case under the provisions of NDPS Act has been registered and further probe is underway.
