Chandigarh, July 17, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

With the arrest of five persons including a woman, Haryana Police has cracked a kidnapping case, which took place in Panipat, within 72 hours. Police has also recovered ransom money of Rs15 lakh from abductors.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused were identified as master mind Kajal, a resident of Panipat, Shubham and Ankit of district Bagpat in Uttar Pradesh, Amit of Pundari in Karnal and Narender of district Sonipat.

It may be mentioned here that Naresh Aghi, a resident of Model Town, Panipat was kidnapped by some unknown persons on the evening of July 12, when he was going to his farm in a Range rover car. For his release, kidnappers demanded Rs 1 crore ransom from his son Chirag. He was let off after his son paid ransom of Rs 20 lakh.

Naresh Aghi has filed a complaint in this connection with Model Town Police Station, Panipat on July 13.

After getting complaint, Police immediately swung into action and entrusted the task to Crime Investigation Agency team that, after going through CCTV footages and based on secret inputs, had nabbed four accused from Sujanpur Khekra, district Bagpat in Uttar Pradesh and master mind woman from Purewal Colony, Panipat.

During preliminary interrogation, Kajal confessed in front of the Police that she, along with his accomplices, had kidnapped Naresh Aghi for ransom. It was also revealed that Kajal and Naresh Aghi knew each other.

Kajal also knew very well that Naresh had recently sold his land in crores of rupees and his family will pay ransom for the sake of getting him free. Kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from Naresh’s son and later released him after receiving a ransom amount of Rs 20 lakh.

He said that four abductors, under a scheme, kept Naresh at a flat between Delhi and Gaziabad. They also kept tied kajal at same flat so that Naresh does not have any kind of suspicion on her. He said that Naresh did not share full information with the police about the incident that his well known Kajal was also abducted with him. If the police had been given full information about the incident, the accused would have been arrested earlier.

All accused were produced before the Court, which sent them police remand. Further investigation is under process.
