Haryana not to abolish Numberdari: Dushyant Chautala

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala announced that the post of numberdars will not be abolished. Besides this the numberdars of the state will be given honorarium on a fixed date of every month so that they do not have to wait.

All the numberdars have been linked to the Ayushman Bharat Scheme by the state government and very soon Smart Phones will also be made available for accelerating the work and connecting them digitally to the State Government welfare Schemes.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of the Revenue Department, was felicitated by the Haryana Numberdar Association here today. The President of the Association, Sh. Azad Singh Khandewala was also present on the occasion.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala appealed the Numberdars of the state to connect with modern technology and he added that the Numberdars have a different identity and respect in our society.

He invited the numberdars to give constructive feedback and suggestions so that they can be included during the social-audits at village, town, block, tehsil, district level etc. He said that numberdars would also be included in the committee which would be constituted to monitor the development works being done by Panchayati Raj Institutions.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that many welfare schemes are being run by the State Government. He appealed to the numberdars and invited suggestions on what role can they can play in these schemes, so that their maximum participation in the development of the society can be ensured. If there is more participation, the honorarium of the numberdars can be increased further.

He added that special room can be alloted to them at the tehsil level to sit and work.

The vision of the state government is to make a provision for fixed salary budget at each village, block, tehsil and district level so that institutional development can be ensured.
