Haryana Govt orders registration of Corruption Case against Assistant in RTA Office

Haryana Government has issued orders to register criminal case under Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act against the then Assistant of RTA Office, Ambala on the recommendations of the State Vigilance Bureau (SVB).

Sharing information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the Assistant of RTA Office, Ambala, was found guilty of acquiring disproportionate assets and the officials concerned have been asked to recover amount of Rs. 7,92,121 from contractor for using

sub-standard material in the construction of residential quarters for the officials of Central Jail, Hisar. In another matter, the State Vigilance Bureau (SVB) has recommended to register a criminal case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) & Immigration Act for sending players illegally to Korea.

The first case is regarding corrupt practices in the office of RTA, Ambala and disproportionate assets acquired by an Assistant of this office. The inquiry conducted by Vigilance Bureau revealed that the officials of RTA Office, Ambala committed irregularities in the registration of vehicles and Assistant, Zile Singh has acquired disproportionate assets amounting to Rs. 27,25,607.

While accepting the enquiry of Vigilance Bureau, the State Government has ordered to initiate departmental action against the erring officials and to register criminal case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the said Assistant.

A case under Sections 13(1) read with 13(2) PC Act has been registered in Police Station SVB, Ambala in this regard and investigation is in progress.

In second matter is regarding use of sub-standard material by the contractor, Lajpat Rai Chanana in the construction of residential quarters for the officials of Central Jail, Hisar. The allegations were established during the Vigilance Enquiry and the Government has directed the concerned department to initiate departmental action against the officials, who were supervising the said work and to recover amount of Rs. 7,92,121 from the said contractor.

In the matter regarding sending sportspersons to Korea, it was alleged that players were sent to Korea illegally by charging an amount of Rs. 20,000 each and by creating a Federation during the posting in Sports Department, Yamunanagar.

It was been revealed during the enquiry conducted by the Vigilance Bureau that one Rajesh Sharan, a resident of Village Tezli, Yamunanagar sent a team of 16 players by using fake documents of Dragon Boat Federation and out of which 9 players continued to stay at Korea illegally.

On the recommendations of the State Vigilance Bureau, the Government now has ordered to register a criminal case under Indian Penal Code & Immigration Act against the said Rajesh Saran. A case under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471 of the IPC and 25 Immigration Act has been registered in Police Station SVB, Ambala in this regard and investigation is still in progress.
