Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur today inaugurated a training centre focusing on ‘Green Building Materials and Practices’ at the Haryana Police Housing Corporation (HPHC) Panchkula. During the event, he also released the second newsletter of the Haryana Police Housing Corporation. The HPHC Managing Director OP Singh was present on the occasion.
Exhibition of Green Building Materials: As part of the inauguration, various companies set up stalls showcasing green building materials and related technologies.
DGP Kapur visited the stalls, interacting with representatives to gain insights into the materials and techniques on display. Products showcased included PV solar panels, AAC blocks, heat-reflective glass, double-glazed units, heat-resistant tiles, reflective paints, solar photovoltaic panels, rockwool panels, PUF panels, low VOC paints, grass concrete pavers, LED lights, light sensors, and PCC cement.
Promoting Eco-Friendly Infrastructure: DGP Kapur stated that the purpose of establishing this training centre is to make public infrastructure in Haryana more eco-friendly and durable.
The centre represents a significant step towards integrating environmentally sustainable construction techniques and materials in the development of housing and public buildings. He highlighted that this initiative is crucial in addressing growing environmental challenges and reducing carbon footprints.
Kapur emphasized that the training centre will serve as a platform for understanding the latest construction practices aimed at tackling environmental issues. It will provide practical training to engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders in the latest green building technologies.
The curriculum is designed with a focus on eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient designs, water conservation systems, and technologies that reduce the environmental impact of construction.
HPHC’s Commitment to Sustainable Infrastructure: HPHC Managing Director OP Singh shared that the corporation is committed to promoting sustainability in public infrastructure. The new centre will not only train HPHC staff but also empower the broader construction industry in Haryana to adopt green building practices that meet the highest environmental standards.
The training will focus on design practices, water conservation technologies, and energy efficiency, helping to reduce energy consumption in public infrastructure projects.
