Haryana CM Khattar suspends XEN

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today ordered the suspension of the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam for not paying attention to the problem of a horticulture farmer.

Mr Manohar Lal was presiding over the monthly meeting of Gurugram District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Gurugram today. A total of 11 complaints were taken up in today’s meeting, most of which were disposed off on the spot by the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister ordered to suspend XEN of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam for not paying attention to the problem of horticultural farmer of village Babra Bakhipur of Farukhnagar tehsil of the district. In this case, the complainant said that the Nigam made huge pits in his orchard for laying big lines of 220 KV and uprooted his orchard.

Moreover, he was not given any prior notice for the same. He said that for laying these lines, he was also ready to demolish his house in the orchard but the officials of the Corporation did not listen to him and dug L shaped pits in his orchard. When the Chief Minister inquired about the matter from the XEN, he failed to give any satisfactory reply. The Chief Minister said that when the officials received the complaint, they should have looked into it and should have resolved the complaint on priority.

Superintending Engineer of HVPNL informed that the said farmer has been given compensation of Rs 3.89 lakh. On this, the complainant said that this amount to compensate only one fourth of his loss.

The matter of removal of three high tension lines of electricity passing over the houses of Ward-18 of Municipal Corporation Gurugram was taken up again in the meeting. The Chief Minister directed to explore the possibilities to find Right of Way (ROW) to lay these lines underground. It was informed that three HT lines of 66 KV are passing over Ward-18 and Patel Nagar Colony.

In order to remove one of these lines, a check of Rs 4.10 crore was also deposited by the Municipal Corporation in Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam in the month of November 2018. It was informed that 235 properties fall under these lines and if the ROW is found then these lines could be laid underground up to MG Road.

On this, the Chief Minister directed the officers to examine whether they could get ROW under the policy of any department. In case, there is no such policy, then the Government would frame a new policy for the same, he added.

The matter of resident of Kanhaiya Colony in Sector-44 related to the removal of his electricity meter also taken up in the meeting. The officers of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) informed that there is a dispute of ownership in this case and earlier the electricity connection was taken by the complainant on the basis of wrong documents.

In the meeting, the matter of parking of Food Van in Maharana Pratap Park (Leisure Valley Park) of Sector-29 and to build a garbage dumping station of MCG near it was also taken up. It was decided that the responsibility of cleanliness in that area would now be of Municipal Corporation instead of the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP).

Commissioner, MCG Mr Vinay Pratap Singh informed that suitable place would be identified within next 15 days to shift the garbage transfer station of Zone-3 from Ambience Mall to Sector-29. Apart from this, HSVP should also take necessary steps to prevent encroachment on their land.

Among those present in the meeting included MLA Gurugram Mr Sudhir Singla, MLA Sohna Mr Sanjay Singh, MLA Pataudi Mr Satya Prakash Jarawta, MLA Badshahpur Mr Rakesh Daultabad, Gurugram Mayor Mrs Madhu Azad, senior BJP leader Mr Gopichand Gehlot, Chairperson Haryana Khadi and Gram Udyog Mrs Gargi Kakkar and official and non-official members of the Committee.
