After Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta tested positive for Coronavirus, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also tested positive.
Khattar himself shared this information in a tweet.
He tweeted: “I was tested for Novel Corona Virus today. My test report has returned positive. I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately.”
This comes two days ahead of the Haryana Assembly’s Monsoon Session.
It was earlier reported that Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwar will preside over the Assembly session starting on August 26 in Gupta’s absence but now Khattar testing positive too, this has cast a shadow on the session.
It is pertinent to mention here that two legislators too have tested corona positive.
A day earlier, Gupta’s Political Secretary and his nephew were among the six Assembly staff who tested positive for the virus.
Panchkula Civil Surgeon Jasjit Kaur said Gupta was in home isolation and stable.
Last week, the Speaker had decided that only those who test negative for coronavirus would be allowed to attend the session.

Khattar had recently met Union Agriculture Minister for a meeting on SYL issue. Khattar opted for a test after Shekhawat tested positive for Coronaivurs.
