The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team today arrested Horticulture Officer Vijay Pannu, private individual Kulwant, and driver Pawan in Jind district for accepting a bribe of ₹500,000. The bribe was being taken from the complainant in exchange for providing a subsidy for setting up a polyhouse under a state government scheme.
A government spokesperson informed that the ACB received a complaint where the complainant stated that he had installed a polyhouse under a state government scheme operated by the Horticulture Department, which provides subsidies for such installations.
The complainant reported that District Horticulture Officer Vijay Pannu demanded ₹500,000 as a bribe to facilitate the subsidy. The ACB team, after verifying the facts, planned a sting operation and caught the accused private individual Kulwant and driver Pawan red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The entire operation was conducted impartially and transparently. Necessary evidence has been gathered, and the investigation is ongoing. A case has been registered at the Anti-Corruption Bureau police station in Karnal, and appropriate actions are being taken against the accused.
