Union food processing industries Minister Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today thanked union railway minister Shri Piyush Goyal for acceding her request for granting 50 percent concession in rail fare to the devotees traveling to Varanasi to attend the 643rd birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Ravi Das ji on February 9, 2020.
Mrs. Badal, who received a communication from the railway minister informing her about the concession given in passenger fare to the devotees, hailed this decision and said that NDA government has given a befitting tribute to the great saint Sri Guru Ravi Das ji on his 643rd birth anniversary by granting 50 percent concession in railway fare to the devotees visiting Varanasi on the occasion.
Union minister had made a request to the railway minister for this concession after a representation of Shri Guru Ravidas Janam Asthan Charitable Trust, Jalandhar apprised her about their demand. Giving details of the decision, Mrs. Badal said that railways has decided to grant 50% concession in second/sleeper class to the devotees of Shri Guru Ravidas Janam Asthan Charitable Trust, Jalandhar for attending the 643rd birth anniversary celebration Shri Guru Ravidas ji.
Union minister also thanked the NDA government for getting passed Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) which gives an extension for 10 years in parliament as well as Vidhan Sabha to the people belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. “CAB would go a long way in ensuring empowerment of the underprivileged people,” she added.
