Harmeet Singh Kalka was today re-elected as President and Jagdip Singh Kahlon as General Secretary of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) in elections held today to elect office-bearers of the Sikh body.
Election was conducted by Representatives of Director Gurdwara elections at conference hall of DSGMC at Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib complex in which Harwinder Singh KP was elected Vice President, Atma Singh Lubana was elected Junior Vice President and Jasmain Singh Noni was elected Joint Secretary.
In Executive committee Amarjit Singh Pinky, Amarjit Singh Pappu, Ranjit Kaur, Sarabjit Singh Virk, Balbir Singh Vivek Vihar, Jasbir Singh Jassi, Gurmeet Singh Bhatia, Surjit Singh Jeeti, Raminder Singh Sweeta and Bhupinder Singh Bhullar were elected members.
Giani Dilbagh Singh Hear Granthi Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib performed Ardaas on the occasion whereas Hukumnama was recited by Giani Baldev Singh Jathdear of Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Patna Sahib.Giani Baldev Singh and Giani Gurdial Singh honoured the newly elected office bearers.
Later talking to media, Harmeet Singh Kalka and Jagdip Singh Kahlon said that opposition led by Parmjit Singh Sarna and Manjit Singh GK have boycotted the elections as they knew they don’t have members. They said that election was conducted as per rules by the government and they have extended cooperation for it.
They said that they will continue welfare works in field of health and education besides management of Sikh shrines. They said that capacity and facilities at Bala Sahib hospital will be expanded and transparency in the working will be ensured at all levels.
