Harjot Bains announces to upgrade Govt High School Desumajra as Model School

Chandigarh, August 8, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, on Monday, announced that Government High School, in Desumajra of Kharar Tehsil in district SAS Nagar will be upgraded to a model school. He said this while, on a surprise visit to the school, after he had received complaints about the school.

“I had received reports about lack of amenities in the government high school, Desumajara, and so decided to see for myself the situation there”, said the minister.

About 1000 students study in the primary and high school wings of the school. The school was facing a problem of waterlogging during rainy season for many years, and there was lack of cleanliness and shortage of furniture. The minister said that with his intervention, these problems will be resolved soon.

“The teachers are performing their duty with dedication, but both our students and teachers are paying the price for the neglect by the previous governments”, he added.
