The Global Sikh Council (GSC) strongly condemns the ghastly bomb attacks killing more than 207 innocent Christians on their holy Easter Sunday in Colombo and other parts of Sri Lanka.
GSC sincerely extends its heartfelt sympathies and stands in solidarity with the Christian
community and offer courage to the Victims of the Terror attack and their families.
While offering condolences to the families of the victims, GSC President Mr Gurpreet Singh said GSC is actively engaged to end interfaith conflict across the globe by declaring this year as the “Year of Universal Brotherhood” and by spreading the message of Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh philosophy, on his 550th birth anniversary that “All Human Race is One”.
He further added that Sikhs have always stood against violence and consider it as our duty to unite and speak out against any violent act of terror. He said, GSC is calling on members of all Religions and international community to jointly fight against religious terror.
GSC Secretary Gurdeep Singh Kundan underlined, the importance of teachings of Sikh Gurus which clearly define that co-existence in harmony is very important for all to survive in our Global Village.
There is no authority in heaven that grants licences to any one to kill the innocent, irrespective of their colour, creed, nationality or religion in any part of the world.
