Global Sikh Council advises SGPC to be careful with heritage buildings in Online Meeting with Jagir Kaur

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur held an online meeting with the office bearers of Global Sikh Council (GSC) representing Sikhs from 30 countries and discussed important Panthic issues.

The members of the GSC advised holding the peaceful dialogue and appropriate decisions regarding the old heritage building structures which were found from the Galiara (corridor) of Sri Harmandar Sahib. The GSC shared the view that heritage buildings connect the Sikhs to their origin and have historical significance so it is important to take care of them.

Expressing her views during the online meeting, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that every possible effort is being made by the SGPC in consultation with Panthic scholars and historians to preserve the buildings of historical significance.

Talking about the old building which came to light during the excavation of Galiara, Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the SGPC would take proper care of the building after receiving the report of the tourism department.

During the meeting Global Sikh Council president Bibi Kamaljit Kaur, Jaspal Singh Bains chairman Global Sikh Council Heritage Committee, member Davinderpal Singh, member Paramjit Singh Bedi, Heritage Board members Dr Rawal Singh Aulakh and Sirdar Karamjit Singh Chahal were present.
