Gaurav Yadav to continue as Punjab DGP; V.K. Bhawra among two IPS officers transferred

Senior IPS officer Gaurav Yadav will continue to be the Director General of Police of Punjab.

1992 batch IPS officer Yadav was given additional charge as DGP as the then DGP VK Bhawra proceeded on a two-month’s leave.

The issue of VK Bhawra’s leave arose after the daylight murder of Sidhu Moosewala. It is undersood that the performance of VK Bhawra was not considred upto the mark and he was asked to step down but he preferred to proceed on leave from July 5.

As Bhawra’s completes his leave period on September 4, orders have been issued before he joins his duty.

He has been appointed the Chairman of Punjab Police Housing Corporation.

According to source, any officer given additional charge as DGP can continue to be on the coveted post for a period of 6 months from his appointment.

In the orders issued today, Mr. S.S. Chauhan IPS has been appointed as the Managing Director of Punjab Police Housing Corporation.2 IPS Transfers 3Sep22
