Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi aide held for murder of liquor merchants

Gurugram, May 23, 2022- A crime unit of Farrukhnagar of the Gurugram police has arrested an active member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Goldy Brar gang having a bounty of Rs 50,000 in connection with the murder of two brothers who were liquor merchants.

The incident took place on February 25 at Khor village in Pataudi.

The arrested accused has been identified as Rohit, 24, who was the mastermind behind the killing. He was nabbed from Jaipur bypass in Rajasthan on Sunday after a tip-off, the police said on Monday.

The police earlier made ten arrests in the incident. It had nabbed Akshay Kumar on February 27, a resident of Khor village in Pataudi, who had provided the information of the deceased brothers to the criminals.

Deputy Commissioner of police (crime), Rajeev Deswal said, “Rohit hatched the plan to eliminate the trio brothers — Paramjeet Thakran, Surjeet Thakran and Ajit Thakran on February 25 but could eliminate only Paramjeet and Surjeet”.

The accused disclosed before the police that he wanted domination in the area and killed Paramjeet, a former councillor, and his brother Surjeet with the help of other accomplices.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Preet Pal Sangwan asserted that Rohit was an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Goldy Brar gang and committed the crime under the direction of Anmol Bishnoi.

“Four cases of attempt to murder, extortion and the Arms Act were registered against the accused in Gurugram and Rajasthan,” Sangwan said.

In connection with the incident, a case of murder had been registered against Ajay, Rohit, Sandeep Goriawas, Dinesh alias Gangaram and Dharmender sarpanch based on a complaint filed by the victims’ brother Ajit Singh at Pataudi police station.  (Agency)
