Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that in order to facilitate the pilgrims aspiring to visit Sri Kartarpur Sahib the Punjab government has decided to start the free of cost registration for the pilgrimage through the Sewa Kendras across the state from November 1.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has launched a portal dedicated to registration of the devotees intending to visit Sri Kartarpur Sahib.
He said that the state government has decided to launch the registration regarding pilgrimage to Sri Kartarpur Sahib from Sewa Kendras across the state. Mr. Sharma said that pilgrims intending to visit Sri Kartarpur sahib could visit Sewa Kendras to avail the registration service free of cost.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the application forms would be available at the Sewa Kendras and would be provided free of cost.
However, he said that those people who intend to take the help for physical filling of the form would have to pay a fee of Rs 20 per form. Mr. Sharma categorically said that those people coming with pre-filled forms would not be charged any fee for the online registration.
The Deputy Commissioner said that training to the staff has already been imparted for filling these forms. He said that these services would be available to the eloign sewa Kendras from the November 1, 2019.
Mr. Sharma said that a helpline number has been set up by the state government to redress the grievance of any citizen facing some problem in filling the form adding that in case of any problem the citizens could call on 8283842323 for assistance.
