Former Punjab Speaker Ravi Inder Singh announces Rs.5 lakh aid for flood-affected people

Expressing concern over the situation due to heavy rains and floods in the state, Former Punjab Speaker and president of Shiromani Akali Dal 1920 today announced to give Rs. 5-lakh aid for the flood-affected people of the state.

This was announced by S. Ravi Inder Singh in a meeting held at Khalsa Senior Secondary School here which was presided by party leader Harbans Singh Kandhola.

It was also decided that to further help the people who have borne the brunt of floods, funds would be collected from party members and other kind hearted people who can afford.

S. Ravi Inder Singh also announced to constitute a Committee which would contact the flood affected people and put their case before the Punjab government so that their losses could be minimized.

The meeting started with plantation in the School Campus and deliberations were held about party’s plans regarding the celebrations of 550th Parkash Purab of first Sikh master, Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

A resolution was passed regarding the programs to be conducted in the educational institutions under the banner of Ambala Board of Education. It was decided that various programmes would be held in schools and colleges running under the Board.

Expressing concern over the fast polluting atmosphere, the party leaders and members vowed to start plantation drives across Punjab and also to take care of the plants planted during such drives.
