Phagwara, May 7, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Former Punjab Minister and Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Mr Joginder Singh Mann had today sought a high-level probe against suspended SHO Navdeep Singh for his links with dreaded criminals.
In a letter to Director General of Police Mr. Dinkar Gupta, the former Punjab Minister asserted that from day one of his posting this SHO had always been in news for the wrong reasons and despite being a public servant his attitude towards people had always been very hostile.
He said that very serious allegations like his nexus with drug peddlers, gangsters, anti-social elements, bookies, amassing of huge wealth through corruption and others have been surfacing against him from time to time.
Mr Mann said that Entire Phagwara is aware of the fact that this SHO under the open Political patronage had been shielding the dreaded criminals and victimizing the poor and needy people, which is unwarranted, undesirable and intolerable.
The Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation said that Apart from adversely hitting the image of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the activities of this SHO had brought bad name for the Punjab Police which has a glorious heritage of serving the people diligently.
Congratulating the Director-General of Police for taking exemplary action taken against power-drunk SHO Phagwara Navdeep Singh, he said that Mr Gupta has once again upheld the ethos of responsive, transparent and humane policing which is the need of the hour in this time of pandemic crisis.
Mr Mann said that the incident of manhandling of a poor vegetable vendor by the power-mad SHO was a blot on the entire Police force and has once again reminded the entire globe about the atrocious British regime when such high-handedness by Police was the order of the day.
