Former MP Avinash Khanna’s book ‘Samaj Chintan’ unveiled by Governor Punjab

The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore today unveiled the book titled ‘Samaj Chintan’ authored by Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, former MP and National Vice President Bhartiya Janta Party at Punjab Raj Bhavan.

Speaking on the occasion Sh. Badnore appreciated the sincere effort of Mr. Khanna in penning down his memoirs and thoughts based on his real life experiences in the form of a book which will not only inspire the readers but also benefit the society on the whole.

He said that honesty, diligence and commitment are required along with a strong will to bring about a transformation in the society if we really wish to see a ‘Naya Bharat’. He also talked about the military training and nationalism together with the skill development as the essential part of the learning for the youth especially in rural areas to make the rural youth more confident and self reliant.

Giving details about the book, Sh. Khanna said that the book is primarily a the compilation of his selective life experiences and views written by him on different occasions focused on improving the basic fabric of the society.

Sh. Khanna, who himself is a social worker and a keen reformer, said that we do not need any position in the society or hold any office in the governance for materializing or accomplishing any task which is towards transforming the society from better to the best.

According to the author, the book is published by the Prabhat Publishers of Delhi, has 192 pages and is divided into 9 parts. Each part of the book has touched the imperative problems with their solutions right from the slum dwellers, homeless, physically and mentally challenged children, orphans, destitute, broken marriages, drug addiction in the youth, de-addiction and then their rehabilitation in the main stream etc., he said.

He expressed his gratitude to the Governor Sh. Badnore for having launched his book in Raj Bhawan, the place which has a history of launching more than 35 books by the Governor himself in the last two and a half years.

Prominent amongst others who expressed their views are Prominent Social Worker Prem ji Goyal and Justice (retd) SN Aggarwal.

The stage proceedings were managed by a senior BJP leader Sh. Vineet Joshi.
