Former Minister Ghagga’s son Harsmeep ‘Laddi’ Ghagga joins AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday got a shot in the arm with Harsmeep Singh ‘Lalli’ Ghaga, son of political stalwart and former minister late Hamir Singh Ghaga, joining the party along with dozens of his supporters here.

Senior leader of the party and leader of opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema, in the presence of, besides members of the state core committee of the party, social activist and senior leader of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader, Ravinder Jain, Opera Garden Project, Zirakpur, general manager, Ashwin Jain, and business baron and entrepreneur, Tejinder Thakur, Aakash, Pankaj Soorna, Dr Balwinder Singh, Ankush Sud, Gurdial Singh, Vijay Kumar and Subhash Chand Rana, extended a rousing welcome to Harsmeep Singh ‘Laddi’ Ghaga and his supporters into the party fold.

Extending a rousing welcome to them in the presence of leaders of various political parties, Harpal Singh Cheema said with their joining the party fold, unconditionally, the party had got a shot in the arm, stating that the doors of the party were always open for anybody bearing clean public image and commitment to work unitedly for the welfare of the people.

On the occasion, Harsmeep Singh ‘Laddi’ Ghaga said that the decision was well thought-out as he was greatly impressed by the way the issues and concerns of the people of Punjab were being raised by state unit chief and Sangrur MP chief, Bhagwant Mann, in the parliament from time to time, besides the unprecedented public-centric developmental works undertaken and completed by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in its maiden outing in Delhi.

He said he took the decision to join the AAP with a mission well defined, stating that he would, like his father, would strive hard to reach out to the people of the state with the people-friendly plans and policies of the AAP and was committed to work for the peoples’ welfare.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Jain said that his party had been fighting, tooth and nail, against the mighty ‘mafia’ which enjoyed unstinted patronage of the erstwhile SAD-BJP and the Congress Party regimes in the state for a pretty long time now, adding that if the intentions of those at the helms of affairs of the dispensations were pro-people, there was nothing impossible to achieve, he asserted. Ravinder Jain, who is currently halqa in charge of Derabassi, and vice-president of Mohali area, had unsuccessfully contested Assembly election in 2017 on BSP ticket.

Others who were in attendance were, besides members of the party’s state core committee, including Sukhwinder Pal Singh Sukhi, Gerry Baring, Harchand Singh Bursat (chairman political review committee), Nina Mittal, Gagandeep Singh Chadha, Dr. Balbir Singh, observers Gurdeet Singh Phaguwala, Gurpreet Singh Aloarkh, Satvir Singh Bakhshiwala, in charge (Patiala district), Chetan Singh Joremajra, Tejinder Mehta, district president, halqa in charge Ghanour, Jarnail Singh Manu, halqa in charge Sanaur, Inderjit Singh Sandhu, halqa in charge Shatrana, Davinder Singh Brass, Dev Man Nabha, Kundan Ghogiya in-charge Patiala constituency-1 (Bijli adnodolan), Megh Chand Sharma, JP Singh, Preeti Malhotra, Virpal Kaur, Jaspal Talwandi and Sandeep Bandhu.
