The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has termed FIR registered in case of Gurudwara Majnu Ka Till as totally unconstitutional, unjustified and against humanitarian grounds and he has urged he Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal to immediately get this FIR cancelled.
In a letter written to Mr. Kejriwal, Mr. Sirsa said that as he was aware that an FIR has been lodged against Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee for helping the stranded and helpless people. He said that it is totally unconstitutional, baseless and against humanitarian grounds because the DSGMC supported the helpless and poor daily wagers while Delhi Govt. failed to do so in the nick of the time.
He reminded the CM that DSGMC had informed the Delhi Police about stranded people at Gurdwara Manju Ka Tilla Sahib and applied for permission to take two buses and one Tempo Traveller to drop them to Punjab on 29th March 2020. He said that it is beyond his comprehension why would Delhi Police or Government reciprocate our supportive and informative gestures with an FIR ?
He said that we have been repeatedly tweeting requesting Delhi Govt. & Punjab Govt. to help them but instead of helping us, the Delhi Government has lodged an FIR against us.
Mr. Sirsa said that he would like to inform him officially that the DSGMC has provided its Sarai (Guest houses) to the Doctors, Nurses, Paramedical and other staff of Govt. hospitals facing accommodation problem in Delhi due to Coronavirus pandemic for staff of RML Hospital, Lady Hardinge hospital, AIIMS and Safdarjung hospital.
He said that part from it the DSGMC is providing Langar (in the form of Packets and cooked food) to more than 1 lakh people daily from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Gurdwara Nanak Piao, Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib and Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, G-8 Rajouri Garden, New Delhi.
He said that the DSGMC is duty bound to serve humanity as per the tenets of Sikh Gurus and they will continue to help Delhi Govt./Govt. of India in all possible ways in this hour of crisis. DSGMC and Sikhs being the responsible citizens of this great country.
The DSGMC President said that he was hopeful that Mr. Kejriwal will take action the SDM who has lodged this FIR and immediately order its cancellation FIR keeping in mind the supportive and proactive approach of DSGMC on this issue.
