Every Sikh should fulfill responsibility as a preacher: SGPC Chief Jagir Kaur

Children’s religious competition was organized by Sikh Education Belgium in association with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) dedicated to the 400th Prakash Purb (birth anniversary) of the ninth master, Sri Guru Teg Bahadar.

A function was held in this regard on Friday at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, Sri Amritsar associated to Sri Darbar Sahib, which was especially attended by SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur, senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, SGPC member Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Surjit Singh Tugalwal to bless the children for their participation. During this function, the children recited Sikh history through their poems.

Addressing the function, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that as per the need of the time, every Sikh should fulfill the responsibility as a preacher to flourish the Sikh faith.

“SGPC is constantly working for the flourishing Gurmat (teachings of the Sikhs Gurus) in various ways. From time to time, the Dharam Prachar Committee of the SGPC conducts religious competitions for the children to impart information on Gurbani, Guru’s history and Sikh Rehat Maryada (code of conduct). It is gratifying that the Sikh Education Belgium is doing a commendable job in connecting the children with the Sikh heritage”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

Sikh Education Belgium is trying to make children from different countries firm in Gursikhi (living Sikh faith as per Gurmat) by conducting online competitions.

While thanking Bibi Harpreet Kaur and Manjinder Singh, head of Sikh Education Belgium and other representatives of the organization asked them to continue their efforts for the promotion of the Sikh.

On behalf of Sikh Education Belgium, Jarnail Singh thanked the SGPC officials including Bibi Jagir Kaur and said that the SGPC has given them all possible support for which the organization is grateful to SGPC.

On this occasion, SGPC additional secretary Partap Singh, assistant secretary media Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Simarjeet Singh Kang, manager Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, OSD to SGPC President Dr Sukhbir Singh, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, from Sikh Education Belgium, Bibi Tejinder Kaur, Bibi Puneet Kaur, Bibi Jasmeet Kaur, Satwinder Singh, Jaspal Singh, Jarnail Singh, Palwinder Singh and the Sangat were present.
