DSGMC warns Amazon Prime to withdraw ‘Pataal Lok’ or face music

New Delhi, May 23, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has warned online video promoter Amazon Prime to immediately withdraw ‘Paatal Lok’series produced by well known actress Anushka Sharma which depicts baptized Sikhs contrary to their real character or face legal action over the issue.

In a statement released here today, Mr. Sirsa said that Sikhs are always known to be saviours of women and whole world recognizes Sikhs for their service of humanity but this series produced by Anushka Sharma has shown Sikhs as rapists.

He said that what is more intriguing is that one of the baptized Sikh has been shown as a one who is witnessing a rape incident and not reacting on it. He said that a Sikh cannot tolerate any wrongdoing with women and a baptized Sikh can do, they (producers) should not even think of it.

He said that it is well known history that Sikhs have even saved women belonging to their enemies and Sikh Guru Sahiban have always lauded women as one who gave birth to Kings. He said that any Sikh cannot tolerate anything against women.

He said that series depicts Sikhs as raping women or a silent participant in this incident which is unacceptable. He said that we cannot allow Amazon to hurt our sentiments and faith again and again. He said that this agenda of hatred and painting our religion wrong must stop.

Mr. Sirsa urged the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Mr. Prakash Javdekar to take strong action against this series. He said that this series must be banned and Amazon must be fined for their repetitive attempt to malign religious harmony in India.
