A big announcement was made at bhog ceremony of martyrs of Lakhimpur Kheri massacre where it was announced that the Delhi Sikh Management Committee (DSGMC) will purchase land at massacre site and will built a permanent memorial as a tribute to five martyrs.
Decision regarding this was taken by DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa with due consultations with leaders of Samyukat Kissan Morcha (SKM) along with Saints of the area.SKM leader Dr. Darshanpal made announcement in this regard from state and also thanked DSGMC and Mr. Sirsa.
Mr. Sirsa disclosed that today team of the DSGMC had reached Lakhimpur Kheri to participate in bhog ceremony of five martyrs including farmers Lovepreet Singh, Nachattar singh, Gurwinder Singh, Daljit Singh and journalist Raman Kashyap. He said that the DSGMC held deliberations with SKM and Saints of the area and decided to built a permanent memorial for five martyrs by purchasing a piece of land on that very place where massacre took place.
He said that this memorial will remind future governments and future generations that when the government of the day took to brutality and cannibalism, neither we were scared and nor we ran away and instead we faced resistance and built this memorial to remind everyone that we can stand upto any sort of brutality.
