The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has announced a major economic relief package for Sikh families facing financial crisis due to COVID-19.
Disclosing this, in a Press Conference, DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa and General Secretary Harmeet Singh Kalka said that DSGMC will provide financial help to all Ragis, Dhadis, Kirtani and Granthi singhs who have lost their jobs during COVID-19 crisis. They said that apart from monetary help to them on recommendation of Singh Sabhas, they will be provided free ration to feed their families.
They said that Sikh children whose father have passed away due to Corona will be provided free education in Guru Harkrishan Public Schools of the DSGMC. They said that such children if now studying in other schools can get themselves transferred in GHP schools and they will be provided free education.
They said that such Sikh children who have lost their father due to Corona and they want to take higher education, then DSGMC will provide free education to them in colleges of the DSGMC affiliated with Delhi University and it will also bear expenses of their fees.
Both leaders further disclosed that Sikh families who have lost their sole bread earner due to Corona and are facing financial difficulties will be provided Rs.2500 monthly pension.
They also disclosed that young Sikh girls who have lost their father due to Corona, will be provided Rs. 21000 as shagun for their marriage and DSGMC will also make arrangements for their Anand Karj in Gurdwara Sahib.
They also announced that on recommendation of Singh Sabhas, patients to be admitted in 125 bedded hospital being reading by the DSGMC will get 50 percent rebate and their MRI and CT scan will also be done free of cost.
