Hon’ble Delhi High Court took strong cognizance while hearing over a dozen of writ petitions pending in the court with regard to the non-payment of arrears as per 6th and 7th Pay Commission, not paying 40% salary pending for more than one year, overdue increments and non-payment of dues to the long back retired teachers and other employees of Guru Harkrishan Public School (GHPS) under the management of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).
While giving details on this issue, DSGMC Member Mr. Inder Mohan Singh said that DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa who personally appeared before the Court as directed, tried to seek more time to pay arrears to the teachers and other staff taking plea of the financial crunch in DSGMC.
He said that the Hon’ble Delhi High Court Justice V. Kameswar Rao after hearing arguments of all concerned issued direction to the DSGMC to pay a sum of Rupees 2 Lakh fifty thousand to each retiree of the GHPS as interim relief before 4th August 2021 positively, which will be adjusted later in their final settlement of accounts.
Mr. Inder Mohan Singh said that on the persistent demand of the counsels of the petitioners, DSGMC President Mr. Sirsa reluctantly agreed to part with the financial accounts and bank accounts of the DSGMC along with financial statements of all GHPS and its Society which are required to be deposited in the Court alongwith affidavit positively by 2nd September 2021.
Mr. Sirsa has also been directed by the Court to file an affidavit latest by 2nd September 2021 giving time-line stating therein by when the 40% arrears of salary pending for more than one year, pending increments, remaining dues of the retired employees and payment of arrears to the serving staff of GHPS as per 6th and 7th CPC will be paid.
Mr Singh said that the next date of hearing in this matter will take place on 6th September 2021.
