Former Education minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema today condoled the passing away of the founder of Sacred Heart Convent School, Ludhiana Sister Mirabelle saying the education sphere in Punjab had lost a leading light.
In a condolence message here, Dr Cheema said the 100 year old educationist had made Punjab her home since 1965 when she founded the Sacred Heart Convent School at Ludhiana. He said Sister Mirabelle had a long a distinguished career as an educationist and administrator and was known for her spirit of selfless service.
He said the erstwhile SAD-BJP government had recognized her services by bestowing her with the Lifetime Achievement award on behalf of the Punjab Education department.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader expressed his condolences to The Sisters of Sacred Heart Convent and prayed to the almighty to give her soul lasting peace.
