Dr Bhupinder Singh Dhillon appointed Director of PAU’s Regional Research Station Gurdaspur

The Punjab Agricultural University Vice Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, on behalf of the Board of Management, has appointed Dr Bhupinder Singh Dhillon, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Amritsar, as Director, Regional Research Station, Gurdaspur. While sharing this information, PAU Registrar, Dr Rajinder Singh Sidhu, further said Dr Dhillon has been appointed for a term of four years.

An alumnus of PAU, Dr Bhupinder Singh Dhillon joined service at the University in the year 1997 as Assistant Horticulturist after completing his M.Sc in Pomology with merit scholarship. In the year 2013, he got promotion as Professor, PAU, simultaneously taking over as Deputy Director, Training at KVK, Amritsar.

In his current role, Dr Dhillon has been planning and monitoring short duration and vocational training courses, on farm/ adaptive research trials to assess the location specificity of agricultural technologies under various farming systems.

He also organized field days and front-line demonstrations on different crops, apart from campaigns, surveys, exhibitions, lectures and individual consultations involving farmers, youth and farm women.

It may be mentioned that Dr Bhupinder Singh Dhillon is an experienced administrator, having served in various capacities at PAU Regional Research Stations, KVKs and FASCs in different districts of the state. He has also held additional charge of Research Station at Ajnala, Amritsar since 2016.

PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon congratulated Dr Bhupinder Singh on his appointment and wished him success in the new role.
