Don’t panic, Covid positive cases surfacing due to aggressive testing: Jalandhar DC & CP

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today said that cases were surfacing in the city due to aggressive testing by administration and rather than getting panicky by it people must fulfill their social responsibility by Compliance of curfew norms.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police, who undertook flag march in the various parts of city today, said that district administration has aggressively conducted 1400 tests in the city to trace the positive cases in the district. They said that out of these 60 have been found positive, six have been discharged from the hospital after treatment whereas two unfortunate deaths have took place. Both the officers said that 54 cases that have been found positive of Covid 19 were asymptomatic as they were totally fit.

However, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that when the test was conducted they were found Covid 19 positive. They said that had these persons not been traced on time then they could have proved to be a major danger for the entire city. Both the officers said that now with the isolation of these Covid affected patients, the threat to humanity has been minimized.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police further said that the district civil and Police administration has been almost able to trace the chain of the transmission of Corona Virus in the district. They said that concerted efforts were regularly being made by a joint team of Civil and Police administration along with Health Department to trace all the contacts of Covid 19 positive patients.

Both the officers further said that the residents of city should not get panic but should render their social responsibility by staying home and obeying the curfew norms. They said that majority of the population was doing so in interest of their family and society but for the remaining one, the rising cases, was a wake up call to stay home and combat Corona.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police led the flag march at Guru Nanak Mission chowk, Skylark Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Press Club chowk, Sri Ram (Nehru Garden) chowk, Bhagwan Valmiki (Jyoti) Chowk, Shastri Chowk, BMC Chowk, BSF Chowk, PAP Chowk, Rama Mandi, Nangal Shama, Ladhewali, Pratap Palace, Lamma Pind chowk, Santokhpura, Kishanpura Chowk, Damoria Pull, Railway Station, Mandi Road, Madan Flour Mill Chowk, Nehru Garden road and BMC Chowk.
