Delhi, December 2, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
New developments are taking place in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) after recent resignation of its acting President Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
While giving details in this regard, Mr. Inder Mohan Singh, Expert in Delhi Gurdwara Affairs said that till constitution of new Executive Board, Vice-President Kulwant Singh Baath will look after the affairs of the DSGMC in the capacity of Acting President because the primary membership of the former Senior Vice-President Bibi Ranjeet Kaur has already been declared null and void by the District Court Judgment dated January 25, 2021 and moreover she has recently withdrawn her pending appeal on 29th November 2021 before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that a meeting of General House of DSGMC is required to be called to accept the resignation of Mr. Sirsa in which only elected and Co-opted members of the year 2017 can participate because new General House is yet to be constituted after the recent Delhi Gurdwara elections held in August 2021.
Mr Singh said that the situation has become complicated in recent scenario because the DSGMC cannot work under the sole signatures of the General Secretary and Mr Sirsa cannot withdraw his resignation once he has lef the Badal group.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that after his resignation, Mr Sirsa can forgo his claim of nomination in DSGMC as a representative of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and can withdraw his Petition on December 9, 2021 before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court thereby paving smooth passage for constitution of new Executive Board.
He said that after the Co-option of new representative of SGPC and draw of another lot out of the Presidents of the Singh Sabha Gurdwaras of Delhi, new Executive Board of DSGMC is expected to be constituted by the last week of this month.
