Delhi High Court has taken a strict view in non-payment of salary as per 6th & 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) and payment of dues to retiree staff of Guru Harkrishan Public Schools (GHPS) being run under the management of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).
While giving details in this regard, Mr Inder Mohan Singh, former DSGMC member & Expert in Delhi Gurdwara Affairs said that after joint hearing of 43 connected Contempt Petitions, Justice Subramonium Parsad of the Hon’ble Delhi High Court issued directions to the DSGMC to file affidavit specifying the erstwhile School Management Committee (SMC) for all 12 GHPS Schools and also to give details of composition of GHPS (ND) Society which is an apex body for managing all these 12 Schools.
The Court has also asked to specify as to how the financial affairs are being handled by SMC from 2014 till now. The next date of hearing has been fixed for June 2, 2022 at 3.30 p.m.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that the Hon’ble Delhi High Court in its Order dated November 16, 2021 directed these schools to pay salary as per 6th and 7th CPC and to pay the entire arrears till May 16, 2022 and while taking cognizance for non-compliance asked the DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka and other connected office-bearers to personally appear before the Court on May 24, 2022.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that the total liability on this account reported to be around Rs. 200 crores and if the entire amount is not paid immediately, the culprit office-bearers of DSGMC and GHPS can go to jail for a longer term.
